September is women of achievement month. YWCA Northern Rhode Island is celebrating the achievements of Rhode Island women who improve the lives of children and youth. Join us for the 3rd annual Tools of the Trade Luncheon on Thursday, September 20th at Kirkbrae Country Club from 11:30am - 1:30pm. Individual ticket(s) are available or reserve a table of tribute to honor an inspirational woman in your life.
women of achievement awards 2007
The women of achievement awards are recognized nationally as one of the most prestigious awards for women. It recognizes the best in the accomplishments of women across industry, culture, and public service in local communities. This award program will be presented at the 3rd annual Tools of the Trade Luncheon. The theme in 2007 is improving the lives of children and youth.
A woman of achievement has made a sustained commitment and significant difference in her community by showing vision, creativity, determination, and initiative. She has achieved outstanding success:
- with exceptional skills related to children and youth
- being a leader, role model, or mentor
- breaking new ground or old barriers
- aas an agent for positive change
- by inspiring others
Underwriting provides brand recognition to over 7,000 local women while making an important philanthropic investment in the Rhode Island community. Opportunities are available including luncheon tickets, tables of tribute, advertising, and a listing in the program's business directory.

emcee - Deb Ruggiero
Deb Ruggiero, winner of the 2005 and 2007 Metcalf Awards for diversity in the media, will emcee the Tools of the Trade Luncheon. You know her as the local radio personality for Amazing Women on 630am WPRO, 92 PRO FM and LITE ROCK 105. Deb also hosts a series on Rhode Island PBS. Rhode Island's Amazing Women profiles women who successfully lead, challenge, motivate, encourage, and inspire other women.
